Criminal Record Check Process:

ANY volunteer working near or around children is required to have a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search (valid for 5 years) completed through the Ministry of Justice PRIOR to volunteering. This process applies to ALL volunteers regardless of of the amount of time spent volunteering.

If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer or have any questions, please contact our school office and we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and email you a volunteer package to complete. School volunteer forms need to be completed each school year.

To have your criminal record check processed, please following the steps below:

  1. Email criminal.check@abbyschools.ca to request an online CRC application link. Please include your full name, if you require an employee (for noon-hour supervisors only) or a volunteer CRC application and if you have a BC Services Card Account.
  2. If you DO NOT have a BC Services Card Account, you must report to Reception at the school board office with two pieces of ID.

Email Semá:th Elementary

Please note: Allow 4+ week for processing. Volunteers and noon-hour supervisors will not be permitted to volunteer/work until HR receives their CRC clearance back from the Ministry of Justice.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call our school at 604.852.3900.
